Talk for Writing (T4W)

Since the introduction of T4W, children have become more enthusiastic about Literacy lessons. This approach, which starts with children learning a key text off by heart, develops children’s confidence in knowing the key language features and structure of the texts which they are learning to write. During the process, teachers focus more specifically on sentence structure within the text, to ensure children are equipped with all the writing skills they need to write their own versions. We learn the texts from maps, images and key words, and add actions. This approach gets children playing an active part in their learning. As a school we will be taking part in this two year project and receive additional training from the creator, Pie Corbett. Find out more about Talk 4 Writing!
